Building Permits & Fees

The Village of Central Square has an inter-municipal agreement with the Town of Hastings for their Code Enforcement.  Generally the Code Enforcement Officer can be reached at the Village offices on Tues & Thurs 9:00 - 4:00.  Otherwise they can be reached at the Town of Hastings offices. 

The code enforcement officer responsibility is to enforce the International Building and Fire Protection Code, the New York State Uniform Building and Fire Protection Code, local municipal building codes, zoning ordinances, and multiple residency law. Duties are
enforced as directed by the Village Board's adoption of laws.

Building Permits
No building or structure in the Village of Central Square shall be erected, relocated, altered, reconstructed, extended or enlarged and no premises shall be used or occupied for any purpose without a permit issued therefore by the Building Inspector in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 250 and Chapter 229, Uniform Code Enforcement, of the Municipal Code.
