Central Square Lions Club(3rd Annual) The Patriot Run![]() President: Thomas Pallotta Board Meetings: 1st Thursday of the month, 7:00pm at 102 Mohawk Ave. General Meeting Time: 2nd & 4th Thursday at 7pm General Meeting Location: American Legion Post 915 Mission: Our mission is to create and foster a spirit of understanding among all people for humanitarian needs by providing voluntary services through community involvement and international cooperation. We serve but are not limited to the area covered by the Central Square School District. Our service projects include: Dinner filled Christmas Baskets, Eye glasses and free eye exams for qualifying children and adults, Scholarships, Ronald McDonald House, SOVAC, Camp Good Days, Scouting, Leader Dog Program (Michigan), CNY Eye Bank, History: In the city of Chicago in 1917 Melvin Jones, inspired by Helen Keller, started what became the International Association of Lions Club. Today the International Association of Lions Club is the largest service organization in the world. As of January 31, 2004 there were 1,349,983 members, 46,242 clubs in 192 countries and geographical areas. The money received from the public must be returned to the public in humanitarian service.
